Bush n' blade @ last week in nutshell - Bush n' bladeの駆け足一週間
Well, I have been quite busy last week and many has happened. can not go through all in detail but thought will share it in here some of highlights.
先週は本当に忙しい一週間でした。色々なことがあり本当は全て紹介したのですがチョッと無理。そこで写真をメインにダイジェストで紹介します。

As week started, the weather changes and the winter is here.
週が始まると天気急変、一気に冷え込み冬到来。
so graved my forest walking kit and out to last mushroom picking.
森歩きキットと引っ掴んで最後の駆け込み茸狩りへ。
After the fun, the home duty. making fire wood. saw it, split them, and carry out.
楽しんだあとは家の仕事。薪作り、切っては割り、割っては運ぶ・・・
Well it was good chance of getting birch barks, so did that at same time.
白樺樹皮を確保する良いチャンス！もちろん逃しません。
After the physical day time work, the metal hard work of taking care crying babies. it is work to make 2 of them to sleep at same time...
日中の体力仕事の後はメンタル仕事。泣きまくる娘たちをあやしつつ寝かしつけます。
After the baby sleep, it is tiny bit of my own time. well at this point I am also dead tired so get to work on knife only about 30 min max...
子供が寝たらチョッとだけナイフの時間。すでに疲れきってるので、出来ても30分ほど。
Middle of the week, snowed.
週中には雪が積もった。
New Fire woods are for next season, so getting the dry ones from summer house. While working on it, I started hear the squeeking sound like "Alian" from wood pile.... WOW...
新しい薪は次シーズン用なので、乾いた薪を義父のサマーハウスから運搬。薪の山から薪を抜き取っているとキーキーとエイリアンの様な泣き声が・・・・ でた！！！
It was bat.. コウモリでした。
Usually the first snow melts away quick, but not this year. took advantage and went dog walk in the forest.
通常初雪はすぐに解けるのだが、今年は残ってる。犬連れて雪の森を散歩。
the temprature kept dropping to -8 degrees.
さらに冷え込み－8度。
Was busy, but active 1week
忙しいながらも充実した一週間でした。

I have been up to so many activities lately...
This year, I am taking my summer holiday quite early. About 2 weeks have past and week and half left.
Some of you who have been following my blog long time may have noticed that the update slows down as when I am on holiday, that is because I fill up my 24h of day with things I need to do and want to do.
In the day time I am at home duty work. This summer is reorganizing garden. Gathering all garden plants to one spot, expanding the vegetable garden, and hopefully can manage to build a fire pit for grilling.
And when raining or too hot to work outside, then extending the storage space on 2nd floor.
Then the night time, I go to basement, making knives, modding outing gears, sharpening axes.. :)
Talking about the knife, I am still at trying to get the satisfactory look on those neck knives. The Makiri neck knife. I am remaking the handle now for the 3rd times. 1st one was getting nicely, but then I clacked it when peening the brass pin. The second one was just did not like the grain of wood, the 3rd one.... Nothing wrong on this one, but I can tell that I will not gonna like this one when I finished, so I am quite sure, I am going to make the 4th one....
I was getting frustrated on this project, so picked up the one I am making it for my best friend "The Crazy Mexican". (See the post http://bushnblade.blogspot.com/2012/04/it-was-easter-holyday-and-has-4-days-of.html#links)
This type blade is not the first time, so coming up fast and no difficulties. So I have tried new materials on this knife.
What do you think?
Still need to finish the sheath then final polish. But I really like this materials. Especially the wood, it is very hard but not like oak, it has good elasticity as well and I love this color and texture.

メリークリスマス! Hyvää joulua!
さてさて、もうすぐクリスマスですね。多分このアップがクリスマス前最後のものになるかな？ ブッシュクラフトなクリスマスねたを考えていたのだけど、２４、２５日を待たないと結果の撮影が出来ないので、それはクリスマス後にアップ。
今回はブッシュクラフトと鍛冶から離れてフィンランドの生活について少し紹介。
フィンランドのクリスマスは日本の正月のようなもの、忘年会、年末大掃除、仕事納め、三が日、大量な料理とその買出し・・・すべを２４日までに終わらせるように大慌て。
一昔前の様に『女は家の切り盛り、男は外で糧を得る』という生活ならこれもこなせるのだろうが、夫婦共働きで会社と家の仕事が山積みではとても手が足りない。私もまだ大掃除の目処すらついていない。それでも買出しと、妻へのクリスマスプレゼントは何とか購入。会社の仕事もやっと底が見えてきたかな？？
クリスマスパーティー(Pikkujoulu)
これは日本の忘年会にあたるもので、会社、友人、クラブなど集まり、クリスマス前に行う行事。基本的には、記憶がなくなるまでひたすら飲む無礼講+セクハラOKのパーティー。次の日に無断欠勤も目をつぶってもらえる。が、しかしその後人間関係に亀裂が入ることもしばしば・・・
年末大掃除
クリスマス前に行う大掃除で、まあやることは日本と同じ。重いカーペットや、マットレスを外に干し、埃り叩きをするのは夫の仕事。
仕事納め
たぶんフィンランド人が1年のなかで一番仕事をする時。ほとんどのお店も夜９時まで、週末も営業（通常は７時か８時、日曜（店によっては土曜も）は定休）。
大量な料理とその買出し+プレゼント
御節の様にクリスマスは大量の作り置き料理３日分を作ります。内容は豚太ももの丸焼きハム、数種類の魚料理。根菜類のオーブン料理。もちろんスーパーはゴッタガエシ。品切れになることも普通。そして問題のクリスマスプレゼント。何を買うかが問題なのではなく、どれだけ買うかの方が問題。というのも、一人１個買えばよいわけではなく、３～５個ほど買う必要がある。だから家族分買うと・・・計算できますね、年末調整で税金戻ってきて懐ホクホクのはずが－５０度まで一気に下がります。
そしてクリスマスの三日間
２４、２５、２６がクリスマスの三日間になります。人口の殆どは実家に帰り、家族とともに家に篭ります。ですのでこの三日間は街中から人が消えてしまったかの様に静かです。営業しているのは一部のガソリンスタンドくらい。営業中の明かりが見えたときはもう、砂漠の真ん中のオアシスを見つけた気分。だから、『クリスマスはどこかでロマンチックな食事を・・・』なんてことは誰もやりません。だって、どこも開いてないもん！
こんな感じでクリスマス開けは、何事も無かったかの用に仕事に戻るわけです。もちろん頭は年が変わるまで休みぼけですが・・・・
それでは皆様も良いクリスマスでありますように！

今日久しぶりにブログの統計を確認してみて気がついた。
このブログを始めて6ヶ月ッ経ってました！！
I haven’t been checking the traffic analysis lately, but suddenly came to my mind so opened the Google Analytics page. And have realized that 6 months have passed since my first article upload on this blog.
そして気になったのでカウンターを見ると・・・
and so wanted to see the visitor count….
訪問数 / Visitor count : 4,220
そして AND
ユニーク ユーザー数 / Unique Visitor count 1,993
ぇえ？？ いつの間にか１０００を思いっきり超えてる！！そしてリピーター率が53.08%、半分以上！これはとてもうれしいことです。
What!?! It is counting way over 1000! And 53.08% of repeating visitors!
This is really something of a BIG deal to me. So, I would like to say:
"Thank you all! I really appreciate your support. I will do my best to keep up what I do here and hope you continue enjoy visiting!"
